The Slavic Academic Information Centre of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences is carrying out on-going work on Slavic linguistic bibliography. This effort has resulted in regular publication of Bibliografia językoznawstwa slawistycznego (Slavic Linguistic Bibliography) by the Institute of Slavic Studies of the PAS since 1995, in cooperation with the Warsaw Scientific Society. It includes data regarding Slavic articles published across the globe since 1992. The printed edition of the bibliography which includes the final volume Bibliografia językoznawstwa slawistycznego za rok 1997 (Slavic Linguistic Bibliography for the Year 1997) was edited by Zofia Rudnik-Karwatowa, written by Hanna Karpińska, Zofia Rudnik-Karwatowa and Zenon Mikos (formal editor) in cooperation with Slavic experts from Poland and foreign academic centres (Warszawa: SOW, 2003, 870 pages, 7497 bibliographical descriptions).
The project is continued (with the organisational support of the Warsaw Scientific Society) in the form of the bibliographical database iSybislaw which is available on the Internet (www.isybislaw.ispan.waw.pl). Bibliographic data concerning all works in the field of Slavic linguistics published in Poland and works published abroad written by Polish authors is being prepared within a statutory topic at the Institute of Slavic Studies.
The Slavic Academic Information Centre Team carries out work on the methodology of modern Slavic information. The result is, among others, Słownik słów kluczowych językoznawstwa slawistycznego (Dictionary of Key Words in Slavic Linguistics) by Zofia Rudnik-Karwatowa and Hanna Karpińska (Warszawa: SOW 1999). As a result of the lexicon’s update and expansion based upon representative texts from the current subject literature, their descriptions as well as lexicographical sources, an electronic version of the dictionary was made available in 2006 on CD (a demo version of the dictionary is available at: www.ispan.waw.pl/cnis/slownik_slow_kluczowych.htm). It covers over 3000 key words. Slavic information issues are presented by the Slavic Academic Information Centre Team at international conferences and Slavic congresses as well as in articles published in international journals and collective works (publication).
The Slavic Academic Information Centre cooperates with the Commission on Linguistic Bibliography of the International Committee of Slavists as well as Polish and foreign academic centres, among others with the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz, the Institute of Slavic Studies of the University of Wroclaw, the Institute of Polish Philology of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, the Institute of the Czech Language of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague, the Research Centre for Areal Linguistics of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Skopje, the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, the Faculty of Philology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Yakub Kolas and Yanka Kupala Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Minsk, the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev, the Sorbian Institute in Bautzen.
